Terms of Service

Last updated: August 30, 2026

This website is operated by Major Taylor Community Outreach, a North Carolina nonprofit corporation, on behalf of itself and the Major Taylor Cycling Club of North Carolina. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using this site

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to interfere with the site’s operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it, use automated tools to harvest information from it, or submit anything false, misleading, abusive, or harmful.

We may change, suspend, or remove any part of this site at any time without notice.

Information you submit

When you fill out a form on this site, whether to join our mailing list, apply for a leadership role, ask a question, or register for something, you agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it.

Submitting an application or an expression of interest does not create any obligation on our part. We review submissions and respond as our capacity allows.

Membership and participation

Membership in the cycling club, and participation in rides, programs, and volunteer roles, is subject to separate terms, waivers, and codes of conduct provided at the time you join or sign up. Those documents govern your participation. Nothing on this website replaces them.

We reserve the right to decline or end membership or participation for conduct that is unsafe, disrespectful, or inconsistent with the values of the organization.

Events and registration

Event registration, fees, refund terms, transfer policies, and participant waivers are stated at the point of registration for each event. Those terms apply to that event specifically.

Athletic events carry inherent risk. Every participant is required to sign a waiver acknowledging that risk before taking part. Registration is not complete without it.

We may change an event date, route, format, or program element when weather, permits, public safety, or circumstances outside our control require it.

Donations

Major Taylor Community Outreach is recognized as a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are generally tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are not able to give tax advice, and we encourage you to consult your own advisor.

Donations are non-refundable except where required by law or where an error has clearly occurred. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us and we will work with you.

Our content

The text, images, logos, names, designs, and other material on this site belong to Major Taylor Community Outreach or to our partners, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our names or logos to represent yourself as affiliated with us without our written permission.

You are welcome to share links to our pages and to use our public announcements to help spread the word about our programs.

Content you provide

If you send us photos, stories, testimonials, or other material, you give us permission to use it in our communications, on this site, and in our materials, with credit where practical. You keep ownership of what you create. You confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not infringe on anyone else’s rights.

Other websites and services

This site links to other websites and uses third party services for forms, email, registration, and payments. We do not control those sites or services and we are not responsible for their content, their practices, or their availability. Their terms apply when you use them.

No warranty

This website is provided as is. We work to keep the information here accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that it will be error free, complete, or uninterrupted. Program details, dates, and pricing may change.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Major Taylor Community Outreach, its board, its volunteers, and its partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. This provision does not limit any rights you have that cannot be waived under North Carolina law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our programs and tools change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
